Prayer

Fully Devoted

““…rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer.”
– Romans 12:12

A country doctor had a sign over his office door that read, “First visit $25. All other visits $10.” A man who was known to be pretty frugal went to see the doctor. He greeted the doctor by saying, “It’s good to see you again.” The doctor proceeded to examine the man but didn’t say anything. When the doctor finished the exam, the man was upset and asked what he was supposed to do. The doctor replied, “I want you to do the same thing I told you to do the last time you were here.” God wants us, as His children, to be devoted to prayer. Only when we make prayer a regular discipline can we receive the “just in time” provision He has for us each day.

We would not spend time with a loved one without engaging in conversation. God loves us and wants us to communicate daily with Him. How much time have you spent with Him in prayer today?
