Promise Land is the Special Needs Ministry at Second Baptist Church, located at the Woodway Campus

Before You Arrive

In order to ensure our team is adequately prepared to care for your Promise Land participant, registration must be submitted, reviewed and approved prior to attendance. Please Note: You will not be able to drop off your participant in Promise Land until you have spoken with one of our Staff members regarding their first day of attendance. Questions? Promise Land Mission

Promise Land exists to reach individuals with special needs and their families with the Good News of Jesus Christ. We desire for our participants to feel safe, loved and have the freedom to be themselves while in Promise Land. Our program allows them to grow emotionally, socially, and spiritually alongside others with special needs or disabilities. Participants are placed in their Bible study classrooms based on their individual needs and the best fit for them.

Sunday Times & Location

Promise Land is open during all Woodway Campus Worship and Bible Study hours on Sunday mornings (8:15, 9:30 & 11:11AM). Worship times are as follows:

9:30AM Preschool, Kindergarten, and Elementary Age Worship Time
9:30AM Middle & High School Age Worship Time
11:00AMAdults (Ages 18+) Worship Time.

Passionate Care Team

The Promise Land Ministry is equipped with contracted medical care staff, part-time staff, and volunteers who are passionate about special needs ministry. All leaders over the age of 18 are required to pass a background in order to serve in Promise Land. In order to ensure our team is adequately prepared to care for your Promise Land participant, registration must be submitted, reviewed and approved prior to the participant's attendance at Promise Land.

Classroom Design

The classrooms are thoughtfully designed to assist participants in their overall development. We incorporate a variety of enrichment stations into all programming hours, including Bible study, Worship, movement, fine motor skills, tactile activities, and sensory experiences.

Sensory Room

This interactive, calming and captivating space is used throughout Sunday morning by all ages on an as needed basis.

Indoor Playground

The indoor playground is for participants 17 and under, featuring slides, interactive panels, padded floors, and climbing structures.

Teen/Adult Hangout Room

This space is designed for teen and adult participants to socialize and hang out, featuring basketball, air hockey, foosball and more.
