Join us on a 60+ Day Trip to see Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens, located in the River Oaks community in Houston, TX. Bayou Bend is a MFAH house museum for American decorative arts and paintings. Displayed in the former home of Houston civic leader and philanthropist Ima Hogg (1882-1975), the collection is one of the finest showcases of American furniture, silver, ceramics, and paintings in the world. The house is situated on 14 acres of organically maintained gardens in Houston's historic River Oaks neighborhood. We will enjoy lunch at the Black Walnut. Lunch is on your own.
Tentative Itinerary:
8:15AM - Load Bus at FLC Parking Lot
8:30AM - Depart North Campus
9:20AM - Arrive at the Bayou Bend Visitor Services (Lora Jean Kilroy Visitor Center)
10:00AM - Tour begins
11:45AM - Load Bus for Lunch
12:15PM - Lunch at Black Walnut
1:30PM - Leave Black Walnut
2:30PM - Return to North Campus
