Join the North Campus 60+ Group as we travel to see The Painted Churches of Schulenburg, Texas. They are stunning 19th/early 20th-century rural Catholic churches built by German and Czech immigrants, known for their vibrant, elaborate interior frescoes and trompe-l'oeil artwork, transforming simple wooden structures into European-style cathedrals, with St. Mary's at High Hill often called the most spectacular. Visitors can tour these active, historic sites, which include churches in nearby communities like Praha, Ammannsville, and Dubina, experiencing unique Old-World artistry and Texas history.
