60+ Sam Houston Memorial & Prison Museum

Join the North Campus 60+ Group as we travel to see the Sam Houston Memorial Museum where we will have an in-person tour on the lovely grounds of the Sam Houston Museum. We will have the opportunity to experience Sam Houston’s life through the historic buildings and demonstrations provided by the knowledgeable historic interpreters, dressed in 19th-centrury clothing. This tour requireS walking across gravel paths and uneven terrain, and in some areas, the ability to climb steps is required to see every part of the Museum.
Then we will go to lunch. You will have a choice between Raising Cane’s, Whataburger or Chick-fil-A. Lunch is on your own.
Our last stop is The Texas Prison Museum. It offers an intriguing glimpse into the lives of the state’s imprisoned citizens. The museum features numerous exhibits detailing the history of the Texas prison system, featuring a look inside the operations behind the fences and walls.
