From judges to kings, from the departure of God’s glory to the assurance of His help, from inquiring of the Lord to inquiring of a medium – this book of contrasts sets before us the importance of a life of obedience and how it’s lived out in the midst of interpersonal conflicts.

The book of 1 Samuel begins with an anguished heart in the midst of a nation in angst because they didn’t know God as they ought to know Him, nor did they worship Him in spirit and truth. 1 Samuel begins this way but it doesn’t end this way! The book of 1 Samuel takes God’s people out of a cycle of darkness and defeat and moves them forward in His purpose and plan.
