Prayer

A Blank Check

“And whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”
– John 14:13

The little secret in this verse is the phrase, “in My Name.” In other words, what we ask for in prayer must be in accordance with the character of Jesus. We can confidently pray in the Name of Jesus. We know He is involved, that He is in the middle of the situation, and that His will is being accomplished. So, the question is, “Are your prayers being specifically answered?” Jesus gives us a blank check. But before we fill it out, we must first present our request in His Name, so that Our Heavenly Father will receive all the glory.

A chorus many of us know says, “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. There’s just something about that Name.” Thank God for the promise that He hears and answers prayers offered to Him in the precious Name of His Son, Jesus.
