The Role of Music in Worship
The Music Ministry has the distinct privilege of leading the congregation as they worship God, praise Him in song, and respond to the pastor’s message. Music in the worship services at Second ranges from contemporary praise music, to more traditional forms of music, to a blend of newer music with more traditional forms.
In addition to an adult worship choir and orchestra, and a variety of auditioned groups, children’s choirs (under the direction of the TeamKid Children’s Ministry) teach boys and girls how to worship God through music, and SPA (the School of Performing Arts) offers instruction in both instruments and voice.
