The “profit” of Second Baptist Church is changed lives. Every ministry of the church, at each of our six campuses, is focused on producing that profit through worship experiences, events for all ages, programs, Bible studies, retreats and volunteer opportunities. This infographic provides a glimpse at some of the highlights from 2015, with photos, videos, statistics and more to illustrate how Second loves kids, keeps Worship a priority, encourages growth and community, and supports service and ministry within the church, in the Houston community, and around the world.

THE PRIORITY OF WORSHIP

Worship | Media

Whether you attend a more traditional service with choir and orchestra or one that features a praise team and band, you quickly discover Worship is given highest priority at Second. Everything points toward preparing hearts to respond to the pastor’s message and encouraging individuals to apply God’s Word to their daily lives.

SECOND LOVES KIDS AND STUDENTS

SecondKids | Second Students

Second Loves Kids! In all we do, Second focuses on guiding children and teens through each stage of life, preparing them to commit their lives to Christ and training them to make a difference. The community is engaged through special events, but we maintain weekly Bible study and Worship as the most important elements of ministry. Second embraces a commitment to support families through biblical teaching, while sustaining an atmosphere that inspires faith.

SERVING OUR CHURCH, CITY & WORLD

Missions | Volunteer | Pastoral

Scripture calls believers to put hands and feet to their faith through service to others, and Second wants to see lives changed with the truth of the Gospel by reaching our church, community and world. Focusing on physical, emotional and spiritual needs, the Pastoral, Volunteer and Facilities Ministries provide care for our church family while our Mission and International Ministries bring the good news of the Gospel to the Houston area, as well as around the world.

The Second Family welcomes the many opportunities 2016 will provide for worship, growth, service and outreach to the greater Houston community and beyond. Earlier this year the South and Cypress campuses celebrated their 10-year anniversaries, and the 1463 Campus will celebrate their one-year anniversary in May. In late fall, the Cypress Family will move into their beautiful new campus home at 290 and the Grand Parkway. Summer at Second will include travel to the annual beach retreats for high school and junior high students, Next Level Camp for grades 4 and 5, Sixth Grade Camp and the Single Parent Family Vacation, as well as Vacation Bible School on all six campuses over a three-week period in July. In recent months, Second celebrated our 70,000th new member, and we look forward to continued growth as we seek to reach the influx of new people to our city, and to share the Good News of Jesus Christ around the world through mission trips, our annual missions offering, and The Winning Walk broadcast ministry.
